(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

Toss a pebble into a pond and what happens? Ripples.

Ripples that spread outward and bump into whatever they bump into and bounce back to have whatever effect they have. Period.

Some people believe they’re in the ripple-control business — a mighty tough business that is. The reason they believe this is because they are so attached to having a certain outcome occur. Therefore they feel they must control the ripples and thereby control the outcome.

But you don’t control the ripples, that’s the job of the Universe. At best you may toss more pebbles into the middle of the ripples to create more ripples. Even that is a tough way to control ripples.

Instead, consider simply being in the pebble-tossing business. It’s easier, more fun and, ultimately, more effective; you become a very good pebble-tosser. With the energy you save by not trying to control ripples, you can toss a whole lot more pebbles.

Just remember to release the pebbles after you let go of them.
