Steve's 3 Minute Coaching

About Steve
Today the idea of having a Coach, or even being a Coach, is well understood, but back in January of 1987 there was no (general) coaching profession. The response from most people, upon hearing that Steve Straus was a Coach, was to ask, “What sport?” A reasonable question given that the role of a sports coach is to assist athletes to be their best, to set goals, to excel, whatever their game. That’s what personal Coaches do for people in the game of life.

S:1427 Principle: Old Socks, New Shoes
(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.) “Old Socks, New Shoes” is part of the title of a music album by The Jazz Crusaders. Strangely, I think the phrase holds a Coaching thought. Sometimes in life it’s time for something new. We want it, or need …
S:1426 Quote: Rich And Poor
(Quotes are capsules of information, reinforcement, or enlightenment.) “the only difference between a rich person and a poor person is what they do in their spare time.” Robert Kiyosaki – From his book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ Coaching Point: Okay, I get it, this quote can be controversial, but hang in there a bit and …

And admittedly Being Unlucky is only on the cusp of being a Great Fear unless you have it! People who ponder and worry …
S:1424 Distinction: Fulfillment vs. Success
(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.) Fulfillment. To feel fulfilled is a wondrous state of being. Have you ever been really fulfilled? I mean for more than a few moments then rushing on to your next thing. Sometimes when success occurs it is …
