(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

It’s a good idea to rehearse when you are going to give a fixed performance, be it a presentation, play or any event where there is a need for you to stick to a planned script. Being well rehearsed can assure you of a successful outcome.

To be prepared goes beyond that. While it may include rehearsal of fixed information, preparation is really about putting yourself in readiness. You will study and learn more that you expect to share. You will anticipate the questions or concerns of your listener. You will be prepared for far more than is likely to happen.

Rehearsal only lets you deliver it your way.

To be prepared lets you deliver it in the way your “audience” can hear it. With preparation comes confidence, efficiency and the expectation of a great outcome.
