Pilots-in-training are taught “there are few things in flying that are less useful than runway behind you.” That’s true whether they are learning to take off or to land. All that matters to a pilot is the runway ahead.

The same could be said about many areas of life. If it’s behind you, leave it there. Focus on where you are and where you’re going.
