(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)
There is a huge energy difference between the two actions – to release is to let go; to reject is to push away.
Releasing, whether it is an ended relationship, a tough work situation, or an emotional reaction, is an internal act and strengthens you. Rejecting is always external and drains you.
After you release, you have additional energy. Releasing is a choice that frees you. After you reject there remains the fear that what you reject will return; the cost continues long after the rejection.
What are you about to reject and what will be the cost? What keeps you from releasing, instead?
