A person was talking to a room full of speakers about building their speaking businesses. The talk got around to the question of giving free speeches — should you do them or should you maintain the integrity of your fee schedule and refuse them?
The presenter said:
“It is better to do something for nothing than to do nothing for nothing.”
Pretty good advice any time you re building something new.
Go try it. Do it a lot. Give it away.
When you get good enough and have proven there is a market for it, you ll get paid for it.
