S:0420 Distinction: Might Have Done Differently vs. Did Wrong

(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

Have you ever looked back on actions you ve taken and second guessed yourself? Nearly everyone has. It s always useful to review past actions because you can learn from the process.

However, if you find yourself being overly critical you may want to ask yourself if you did anything wrong, that is, were you in some way out of integrity? If the answer is “yes”, then clean it up and put changes in place so it doesn t happen again.

If, on the other hand, when you look back in review you discover that you simply could have done things differently, that s another issue. Life is full of choices. There are always things you could have done differently. Learn from that but don t criticize yourself for the choices you made, if you were in integrity.
