S:0516 Distinction: Engaged vs. Involved

(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

 

When you are involved with people and organizations it includes spending time and energy with them. You can enjoy yourself and be productive.

But when you re engaged you experience an additional, and deeper, level of satisfaction. Passion, even. Creativity. Desire. You can miss a meal when you re engaged!

Why?

Because involvement is merely what you do. Engagement is who you are.
