(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

Self-discipline requires you to focus on doing the things you ought to; it s “should” based. Self-discipline requires you to overcome something. That process has been used by many, to achieve much.

What would happen if you used self-discipline to focus on what you really, really wanted instead of what you had to overcome? Your whole energy would be different. You may still do the actions that you would have done to overcome, but you will now be doing them to get what you want.

For instance, you could use self-discipline to keep from eating a big piece of pie, or, you could focus your attention on the trim, healthy body you really, really want.

This is not some mind trick. It s just focusing on a different outcome than you have been. What-you-want versus I-must-be-strong-and-resist.

Coaching Point: Where is one place you can let go of trying to use self-discipline and instead, create a big, clear, compelling picture of what you want?
