S:0671 Distinction: Goal Setting vs. Worrying

(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

This seems, at first glance, to be an obvious distinction; clearly goal setting is not anything like worrying. But look deeper.

Worrying is: getting a clear picture full of emotion about exactly what you DON’T want.

Goal setting is: getting a clear picture full of emotion about exactly what you DO want.

The process is identical. The only difference is in the focus of your attention.

Coaching Point: Where’s your focus? On what you want or on what you don’t want?
