“Go make yourself obvious.”

Steve Straus

Coaching Point: Define your market, sure. Knock on doors, yes. Ask for the order, of course. But beyond all those clearly useful activities you want to have the attitude and feeling that you’re involved in something useful for others, that you’re adding value to the world. When you see yourself in that light it helps remove any reluctance you feel to taking action. You shift from simply trying to make things happen — sell an idea, a product, or a service — to realizing that the people who will benefit from being with you need first to know about you! The actions you take to make yourself obvious to them will then come from a different place inside you than actions based on thinking that you have to push, struggle, and promote. When you show what you’re really about, you will attract people who are more likely to want what you have. How are you making yourself obvious?
