(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)
Sure, you’ve heard for years that you should simplify your life. It’s easy to say, but, it seems, not so easy to do.
The problem for most people is that they have developed several habits which have complicated the things and activities of their lives. These habits have caused a momentum. Attempting to suddenly start a dramatic simplification program means they have to fight against that momentum as well as implement new, simpler processes — a daunting combined task.
What if you make simplifying….simple?
Pick one small area of your life:
Some unused clothes that you could give away (or these days, sell on the Internet). Then enjoy the space and ease of the refreshed closet.
Cancel some subscriptions to periodicals you no longer get value from. (Yes, maybe even this S3MC.) Have more time for higher value activities.
Type commonly used phone numbers and addresses into a PC or phone-based contact management system and throw away those separate pieces of paper they’re written on now. You’ll then find them easier.
You get the idea. Pick something small and easily doable. Enjoy the freed-up energy. Then pick another small area and simplify it.
Soon simplifying becomes something you want to do rather than a heavy “should” about which you continue to feel guilty for having not done.
