(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

[Last week’s S3MC struck a cord with lots of folks. I’ve had more breakthroughs around this topic of being Perfect and that’s why I’m writing this follow-up. Please read Principle: Perfect first, then read the following.]

When my ah-ha about feeling that I was expected to be Perfect first happened I saw it only in a business context — My clients don’t require me to be Perfect.

Through interactions with several people I realized that I actually have a higher standard: No one — family member, friend, neighbor, client, or ME — requires me to be perfect.

If someone does, they will probably self-select out of my life, or come to realize the futility of their requirement and let go of it.

My standard is excellence. I like aiming for excellence. I like achieving excellence. Perfection is not achievable. I like playing games I can win.
