(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)
Coaching is a unique and special relationship between two people. The elements of Coaching can be described (in a Texas way of speaking) as:
Wake up. Clean up. Saddle up. And Giddyup.
Translation: Wake up — Become aware. Aware of your stories and programming, your mental conditioning which keeps you stuck in old patterns of behavior. It’s hard to see your own stuff because you’re in the middle of it.
Clean up — Use modern tools and processes to resolve your stuff. Let go of the old mental conditioning. Revisit entrenched beliefs. Are your biases yours or did you inherent them?
Saddle up — Learn new processes, new ways of thinking, new ways of looking at life. Want to learn. Without new approaches there will be no new results.
Giddyup — Get into action with your new tools. Try things. Enroll new people in your journey. Get new results. The universe rewards action.
What will happen is that you will get new feedback, fresh perspectives, more ideas, and more energy. When you do, repeat the above four steps.
Coaching Point: What do you want that you don’t have?
