S:0807 Distinction: Freed vs. Fired

(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

If you’ve ever been fired from a job, you probably didn’t initially feel really good. Being fired is usually experienced as a negative one.

Ah, but being set free is completely different. To be freed is wonderful.

The next time you’re fired — from a job, a relationship, or anything you have an attachment to — go ahead and feel all the yucky stuff. Feel it fully. Learn what there is to learn from it.

Then enjoy your new freedom.

Coaching Point: Are you — right now, right where you are — free?
