Coaching Point: A part of the core wiring of humans is the desire to be free, to want to experience liberty. The technical term for it is the desire to be self-determining. It’s some of that which distinguishes us from the other life forms, but it is part of our rudimentary, survival-based lizard brain, not something we make up or have to learn. The evidence of this desire for liberty is everywhere and in every individual. When you look for it you realize that you will do a lot to keep someone else from impinging on your liberty. Creating, building, and supporting your personal freedom is pretty high on your list of objectives, isn’t it?
