(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

Have you known people who describe themselves as seekers of enlightenment, or evolving, or some other term which implies their interest and pursuit of some form of higher consciousness? Well, good for them. This S3MC does not in any way diminish their chosen activities. Awakening to the thought that there just may be more to this Earthly journey than learning which Hollywood couple is breaking up is a useful awakening.

What you want, however, is to not get stuck in the becoming part. Becoming is an activity, a Doing. One more workshop, a super new book, a wonderfully satisfying new meditation or prayer practice, all great steps to be sure, but not the destination.

The destination is, interesting enough, not a destination at all. Being is simply Being. It is Awareness. There is no doing to it. Once you awaken, there is nothing to do. Simply be.

Enjoy whatever enlightenment practices that appeal to you, but remember to let go ever once in a while and notice that there is no place to get to. You’re already “there.”

Coaching Point: Have you noticed how effortless Being is?
