(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

At a time when it’s easy for many to feel disconnected and separate from others it’s particularly important to be part of a strong community of like-minded individuals. Being part of a community makes your journey richer and more meaningful. I’ll use my recent experience to illustrate.

Fifteen years ago I chose to move from a major city to a lake view, country environment, a good decision. A downside has been less in-person contact with people I care about. Fewer public speaking engagements, live workshops, and even simple visits over coffee. Yet I still have a powerful pull to learn and grow.

After writing and sharing these S3MC’s for eighteen years I recently published a collection of them as, first an ebook, then a soft back. From that, many people have reached out to ask for more. I rediscovered how much I enjoy frequent, meaningful, personal interaction with folks who are interested in that which also interests me. And is it about me? No. It’s about the energy created in the process of interaction. I like it.

I found one of my roles is to be an initiator. So, I’ve conducted a couple of free webinars. I’ll be offering more. (SEE THE ABOVE!) I’ve conducted an exploratory call to see what would support people. I’ll be doing more. I’ve set up new training webinars and coaching groups. More on those, too. I’ll be issuing another in the series of S3MC-based books. I’ll be doing surveys to determine priorities.

To summarize, what I’ve (re)learned is, if I want to be part of a vibrant interesting community, all I have to do is open up to it and ask. Simple.

Coaching Point: What do you feel that being part of a community can do for you? What community can you strengthen?
