(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

Greg Brown has a song called ‘Loneliness House’ which uses the metaphor of withdrawing into a house, by himself, as an expression of what happens when he feels lonely.

In the song he touches on some of the attributes, reasons, and feelings of loneliness, but the line which hits me every time I hear it is that the loneliness house is “… right down the street from Love & Delight.” As if a description of the intersection of two nearby streets.

We all get hurt, angry, lonely, terrified, or unsure of ourselves. That’s just the way life unfolds occasionally and we can close ourselves up if we need to or want to for a while.

The key is to remember we can always come back out and rediscover that love and delight are right down the street.
