(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)
It’s easy to hear advice from multiple sources about how you ‘should’ live your life. “Do important work” may sound like advice from one of those sources. But it’s not; it comes from within and is the pull of your purpose in life. Your deepest Self knows what your important work is.
We each, having certain attributes in common, also have a unique path to experience. Even identical twins have different paths. Close siblings such as the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville, were passionate about and worked closely on the mastery of powered flight, yet were different spirits who went on to live quite different lives.
In my experience, the uniqueness of a person’s life is way undervalued. “Well, yeah, I’m unique, but, you know, not actually very special.” Horse feathers! You cannot be any more special than . . . unique! You’re one-of-a-kind.
The principle of Do Important Work, then, rather than being a ‘should’ as some kind of action item is really about discovering and living your life purpose in all its uniqueness.
When you do, that is important work beyond measure. For you, of course, but also for us. Without your uniqueness our lives are the poorer.
Coaching Point: Do you know you are encouraged by your deepest being to live your unique life? That that is the important work you are here to do?
