Coaching Point: Lane was speaking about building an airplane from a kit. Learning and getting it right is pretty important when you’re a few thousand feet in the air!
And Robert Townsend (former CEO of Avis) said in his book Up The Organization – I’m paraphrasing – “I only try to make correct decisions half the time. Then catch and fix the incorrect ones before they hurt us.”
Takes the pressure off the decisions we make and the learning which transpires, doesn’t it?
