(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

Of course, be responsible for seeing the truth of your world. Be responsible for correcting anything (within your control) which is preventing your life from working well. To be responsible is healthy and rewarding.

Then there are people who always notice what is ‘off.’ They sort for that which is broken and needs fixing, illnesses needing to be healed, the missing which needs finding, and such. They see the crooked picture on the wall, the flaw in the fabric.

These folks, these fault-finders, are necessary, they have their place. However, remembering that any strength overdone becomes a hindrance, one wants to use this outlook on life, this passion for pointing out faults, judiciously. Otherwise being responsible can slide into paranoia.

Coaching Point: Have you noticed that when you are responsible you feel on top of things and when paranoid you feel like things are on top of you?
