(Great questions lead to great answers; weak questions, weak ones.)

“Who am I trying to change?”

Coaching Point: If your answer to this Great Question is anyone other than yourself, you may want to reconsider. Believing your happiness is dependent on the behavior of others leaves you vulnerable.

“But wait,” you may say, “Surely I shouldn’t have to put up with their X behavior, should I?” No, not at all. There are many things you can do to improve your experience.

You can communicate, set, and enforce a boundary.

You can self-select out of their sphere.

You can use the situation to learn more about yourself and why you’re having your reactions.

You can . . . you get the point. Look inward and make your changes there rather than attempt to change ‘them.’

How can you have your world be better today with this gentle shift in focus?
