(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

The only real difference between excitement and anxiety is a willingness to let go of fear.

Sometimes we need help with that, but it is an ‘inside’ job. Fear lives in us. Handle the fear and space is created for excitement to bloom.

Of course, anxiety has its juice. We can become habituated (addicted?) to the energy swirl anxiety creates. To give that up may seem like a loss, and, in a way, it is.

But a loss replaced by the juice of healthy excitement is a deal worth making.

Coaching Point: Remember when you were last excited? Want more of that and less anxiety?
