(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)
What does it mean to be allowed? To have permission? Granted something?
Inherent in ‘allowed’ are separate-from and above-below. Someone or something or some system that is not you and is more powerful than you allows you something. This equation is a part of all collections of people – families, communities, companies, countries.
The rules under which you are ‘allowed’ are always changing, a little or a lot, slowly or suddenly. Nothing remains static.
When you notice you need for something to change you probably want to speak it aloud. Silence rarely causes change.
First, notice what has become, for you, an unacceptably restrictive level of allowed. Then consider how to become effectively aloud.
Coaching Point: Aloud is not always best shouted. What level of aloud would serve you best right now as you adjust your level of allowed?
