(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

Fulfillment. To feel fulfilled is a wondrous state of being.

Have you ever been really fulfilled? I mean for more than a few moments then rushing on to your next thing.

Sometimes when success occurs it is accompanied by fulfillment. A difference between ‘mere’ success and full-on fulfillment is the duration of the feeling. While there is certainly nothing wrong with striving for success it’s the definition of success which begs review.

Are you succeeding to prove something – to others or yourself? Are you succeeding to get away from something? Or to (finally) matter, to give some sort of meaning to your life? These are all fine but may not result in that deep sustained feeling of fulfillment.

Success is more about external happenings and achievements, the measurables and the medals.

Fulfillment is rooted in the awareness and expression of your core values and true life path.

Fulfillment comes from within and is largely unmeasurable, maybe even indescribable.

Coaching Point: Fulfillment feels pretty good, doesn’t it?
