“Silence is a vast pool, always available to us, where we can refresh and renew ourselves, or simply stop in for a while.”

Robert Lawrence Smith

Coaching Point: Do you enjoy silence? These days, many do not.

Moving from screen to screen (whether little or large). From talking-head news to dramatic performances (but that’s redundant). From boardrooms to Zoom rooms. Traffic, construction, crowds, destruction. Noise.

Silence stands apart. It seems not stimulating enough. No adrenaline needles. Nothing to grab our attention.

And that’s the point of silence. Without something coming at us from outside, we can see what comes up from inside.

The truth of your life, for instance, answers to the question of why you are on the planet taking up space. The contributions you are here to make. Encouragement for What’s Next? These are big issues. They affect your happiness more than the next text ping.

Silence serves you. A place where you can refresh and renew.

Or simply stop in for a while?
