(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

 

Strength is quiet and gentle. Power is loud and tense. Strength grows around obstacles. Power rolls over them. Strength creates humility. Power breeds dominance. Strength builds relationships. Power tears them down. Strength comes from inner spirit and is therefore sustainable. Power comes from position and possessions and is therefore transitory.

To shift from Power to Strength, know that no problem can ever really be solved with force, control or suppression. Meaning, joy and growth in life comes from joining with others, rather than discovering and defeating opponents. When you know who you are, you no longer need power. No one can take anything from you; there is nothing to protect or defend. You already possess everthing and are giving it all away — your knowledge, openness, love and acceptance.
