(Great questions lead to great answers; weak questions, weak ones.)
“Who on earth do you think you are?”
Coaching Point: When shouted in anger at a small child this question is not really a question at all, but rather an admonition, an attack. But when asked calmly to oneself, this is a great question. “Who” (or What) makes you the focal point of the inquiry. “On earth” means of everyone, everywhere, a pretty comprehensive sample size. “Think” (or Feel) you are” really needs answering. If your answers are anything other than “unique,” “strong,” “on purpose,” “clear-headed,” “focused,” “joy-filled,” or other positive, uplifting, reinforcing ones, then you might want to ask yourself why that is so. Why would you ever want to think of yourself in less-than, comparative, and downer ways? Your world is built from the view you hold of yourself. Who on earth do you think you are?
