S:0781 Principle: Receiving

(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

Receiving is good. To learn to be a good receiver is to learn a useful skill. There is, however, for many, a bump on the receiver road.

When someone offers you something you may think, in order to be a good receiver, that you should accept. You may have been taught it is not “nice” to turn down a gift. Or you may believe that if you say “no” you will be cutting off some future flow of abundance. But what if that which is offered is something you don’t want? What to do then?

You can receive the gift of having had something offered to you.

Receiving is not a black-and-white, yes-or-no thing. Each time you are offered a gift or opportunity, you want to be able to enjoy the fact that the offering was made. Enjoy receiving the offer. Then you are free to choose whether or not to receive that which is offered. If it’s right for you, receive it. If it’s not, don’t.

Be open to always enjoying receiving the offer.

Coaching Point: Have you turned down anything lately? Did you enjoy being offered the opportunity?
