(Principles are basic truths that, when applied, cause success to come to you easier and quicker.)

Courage is an interesting thing. We’re taught to be courageous, to buck up, to “feel the fear and do it anyway.” Courage is part and parcel of the human journey, but what is it, this courage thing?

As children we are encouraged to be courageous. As we get older we notice we admire people who display courage and sometimes even imagine projecting ourselves into their behavior and having the courage they demonstrate. It feels good to have courage. The essence of courage is “I can.”

Most would think that courage is something they learn or do. It’s not. Courage is something you are. It’s a part of your essence. However, over time it can get hidden under layers of fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

Rather than working on, efforting toward, or doubting that you have courage try simply calling for it from within. You may want to start with small doses of this at first, but you will quickly experience its ready nature. You have a natural and limitless amount of courage.

Coaching Point: Where are you, today, courageous and in your past were not?
