(Great fears are barriers to experiencing your real life.)

[There are countless fears, yet few are of the level of the Great Fears. A Great Fear is noted by its commonness and its effect; it shows up in a large part of society with a numbing effect on one’s happiness.]

This Great Fear is related to the fear of scarcity, but has a different core. There is a particular sting when one feels they have missed out on . . . anything.

It includes feeling that what you got is less than what you missed out on. Coming up short.

Or that you didn’t get what ‘they’ got. Comparing.

Or that you’ve missed out on something forever. Regrets.

The question is, “Why would you ever feel you had missed out? On anything?” After all you got what you got. You are where you are. You have the potential that lives in this ever-ripe moment.

Ah, the issue is where you place your focus. If it is what you missed out on, then you will always have the fear of missing out.

If your focus is on where you are now and what you want from here, then the fear of missing out disappears, seen as the illusion it is.

Coaching Point: Are you attached to an outcome? Do you see that that attachment is a setup for the fear of missing out?
