(Great questions lead to great answers; weak questions, weak ones.)
“What outdated role am I still playing? And why am I?”
Coaching Point: We all play many roles. Sometimes shifting between them in a flash and without conscious thought. From Mom to spouse to business owner to friend to sibling to… Yeah, you get it. Shifting roles.
If you are like most of us, one or more of your traditional roles is no longer giving you the outcomes you want. Or their ROI is not satisfactory. ROI of time, money, love, joy, adventure, creativity, meaning, contribution, expansion, and growth.
Or you may even have an outdated role that is interfering with one of those more desirable outcomes.
It would be simple for you to take time (oh, I don’t know, 5-10 minutes?) to name and write a list of each of your roles. Do it right now if you want. I’ll wait.
Do any of them jump out at you as outdated?
