(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value, or attitude.)

What is it like when you feel connected? To a person, a place, an event, a history? How do you know that you are connected?

Hard to answer that in words. Experiencing connection is its own description. When you are, you know it.

Even if you are an introvert or someone who prefers their own company, when a connection occurs, it feels good. Feels true.

Much of their time, most people feel separate from others. They try to earn their place in the world. Some call it living life from the outside in, needing the outside to give them a sense of self and belonging.

Those folks can find themselves entangled rather than connected. Look up entangled – ensnared, enmeshed, trapped, knotted. Being entangled is the exact opposite of how humans are wired. We, at our deepest levels, desire to be free, self-determining. Not trapped.

People who are open to, seek out, and foster connections experience a wonderful freedom.
