(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten, cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

Nearly everyone is naturally good at something. It’s in their wiring. Some use their talent to have early success, which can be a trap. For instance you know of athletes who rode their natural talents to success in college but flamed out in the pros because they wouldn’t do the work to get better.

Highly successful people don’t rely on their natural talents alone. They also study, practice, seek feedback, and improve. They develop and follow routines and habits to hone their natural capabilities. This leads to either greater results or easier outcomes – or both! They become Pros.

By the way, they also love getting better, not just coasting on their natural abilities. They enjoy an internal sense of satisfaction at becoming a Pro.
